Young Sherbrooke Entrepreneur Part of The Next 36
David Bureau, a dynamic entrepreneur and Université de Sherbrooke graduate, has earned a spot in the prestigious Next 36 program, which brings together Canada’s most promising entrepreneurs.
The Sherbrooke native was selected from among more than 630 candidates from across the country, and is the only one from a Québec French-language university. A total of 38 successful candidates will form the program’s fifth cohort.
Over the next seven months, they will work at developing their companies with support from renowned mentors and experts. They will also be given top calibre academic instruction.
With a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and concentration in Finance, David Bureau launched the companies Daretheweb, which became Osez, and Bridge through the Université de Sherbrooke’s Accélérateur de création d’entreprises technologiques (ACET—Accelerator for the Creation of Technological Businesses) program. He now acts as a special advisor there.
This young man has also contributed to the UdeS’s entrepreneurial ecosystem by heading the 2014 edition of the Quinzaine Cascades de l’Entrepreneuriat entrepreneurship event and by reviving the Club d’Entrepreneuriat et de Réseautage (CERUS—entrepreneurship and networking club).
