Cleantech Group Recognizes Enerkem Among the Top 100 Worldwide

Cleantech Group has named Enerkem among the best in its 2012 Global Cleantech 100. This list recognizes the best private companies of the cleantech sector.

Enerkem, a waste-to-biofuel and chemical company, has announced on October 2nd that it was named a 2012 Global Cleantech 100 company by the Cleantech Group, a worldwide research and consultation company that focuses on innovation in the field of energy and environment.

“It’s an honor to be a part of this select group of innovators, says Vincent Chornet, Enerkem’s President and Chief Executive Officer. We are very proud to be officially recognized […] for the efforts we have given so that the transformation of waste into biofuel and renewable chemical products becomes a reality.”

The list is derived each year from Cleantech Group’s own data and research. Thereafter, 75 international experts of the cleantech sector perform weighted qualitative judgements. The 2012 Global Cleantech 100 list highlights companies who are more susceptible of significantly influencing the market over the next few years.

This year, 8,285 companies from 85 countries have applied to be on the list.
