Artificial Intelligence: Coveo Opens Office in Sherbrooke

Coveo will invest more than $1.5M over the next two years as they open new offices in Sherbrooke. Five positions will be created in 2019, all in research and development – machine learning and software developers, cloud system administrators and security analysts (coveolife.com).

Coveo is an artificial intelligence leader in Québec that develops intelligent and predictive search technologies in order to personalize digital experiences. It counts BRP and GoPro among its clients, and its solutions are integrated with several business applications including Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, and others

In addition to its head office in Québec City, the company has offices in Montreal, London, San Francisco and New York. The Sherbrooke office, located on Roy Street, will be the first outside a major metropolitan area.

“Coveo is looking for top talent in order to pursue its growth, and the Eastern Townships region, along with its universities, has always been fertile ground for finding talent. We already employ about fifty Université de Sherbrooke graduates, and with the help of Sherbrooke Innopole, we have found the perfect opportunity to consolidate our presence in the region and to play an active role in developing the local tech scene”, said Marc-Antoine Veilleux, director of research and development, in charge of Coveo’s office in Sherbrooke.

“The opening of offices in Sherbrooke by Coveo sends a very positive message regarding the dynamic nature of the information technology and artificial intelligence sectors in particular. The IT sector in Sherbrooke has seen a net increase of 17 businesses over the last two years. Innovation is at the heart of Coveo’s activities, a company which operates in a business sector of the future, two factors that will help attract the up and coming new generation of replacement workers”, highlighted Marc-Henri Faure, director of business services at the key Information Technologies division at Sherbrooke Innopole.
