Barnaque

Barnaque is a video game and interactive experience studio that was founded in Montréal. The team seeks to create imaginative experiences that surprise and destabilize through a variety of tools and platforms, everything from traditional gamepads and screens to custom built controllers in an abstract world, including the use of virtual or augmented reality.

Erupting Avocado

This independent studio creates dark and troubling tales featuring grotesque creatures. In these strange and surrealist universes, players are invited to engage in deeply troubling and poetic experiences that will haunt them long after they think they have finished playing.

Games:

• The Repairing Mantis is a horror story telling game where you experience the troubling, violent and poetic nightmare of a praying mantis trying to repair a bridge made out of flying squirrel flesh.
• The Hungry Fly is another horror story telling game where you take on the role of a fly: eat discarded cadavers and embark on a surrealistic and fantastic story where your decisions matter.

Lucid Dreams Studio

Lucid Dreams Studio video game company was founded in early 2017 by Maxime Grégoire and Francis Lapierre, who had been involved in the Montréal gaming scene since 2008. The studio aims to develop high quality 2D games for PCs and consoles.

Games: 

• Legends of Ethernal Legends of Ethernal is the first game to be developed by Lucid Dreams Studio. It is a single player 2D action-adventure game where you get to explore magnificent hand drawn environments, solve enigmas, and battle horrible creatures to uncover the truth about your parents’ disappearance.
• New game to come: BIOMORPH

The studio plans on creating several other games featuring the same characters. Legends of Ethernal features important events in the world of Arkanys which will shape the destiny of entire nations.

Misstic Studio

Based in Richmond in the Eastern Townships, Misstic Studio is a project started by a couple: Sarah and Gabriel.

Sarah is an all-arounder artist, originally a 3D artist. She has also taken many art courses such that she is quite able at 2D. She is also a graphic designer.

Gabriel is a developer. He used to teach video game programming. He has the gift of explaining how lines of code operate to others, but not to his spouse!

Game:

• Their first game is a farm simulation game. Their unique idea is that the player is alone on an island and has to order all his tools, seed, and animals through the Internet.

SSCA is a business that specializes in the creation of management software which integrates IoT (Internet of things) devices and complex health and business logic. They have developed two flagship products: Zoey, an interactive access management solution with integrated data analysis, and Move then Play, an application designed to encourage healthy lifestyles through increased physical activity, while providing tools to help children and families manage a sedentary lifestyle, notably by reducing the impacts of time spent interacting with videogames and screens.

TYV

TYV is a small studio that came into being after the creation of a prototype game at a game jam.

The studio consists of three developers:

Nadia “ViceCtrl” Dolha is our sound designer who is based in Spain but has performed in many countries.

Anja Tunjic is a 2D artist with a diploma from the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, Serbie.

Étienne “YetiYoupi” Périnet oversees everything else (game design, programming, marketing, etc.) in Sherbrooke, Québec, where he is located.

Game: 

• Ducky Bouncy. One day, Cotton was swimming in the river when a lone small duckling passed by. The duckling was lost. Get ready to embark on a fabulous voyage helping Cotton get his new-found friend back to his family.

Vitam Aeternam is a Sherbrooke studio keen to convey its passion for history through its video games. In those games, beginners learn while experts can apply their knowledge to anticipate real historical situations.

Game:

• Avant-Garde is a real time 3D strategy game where you are immersed in the heart of historical battle re-enactments. Be the leader of one army or the other in the conflict. You must deal with the same conditions and resources available at the time. Simulate, understand, and challenge history during authentic historical battles!
