Verbom in the PerforME Cohort and Finalist at the STIQ Awards
Verbom continues to obtain one prestigious nomination after another: the business was selected to be part of the fifth cohort of the PerforME government strategy and it is in the running for the Mérites STIQ awards.
The aim of the PerforME strategy is to support the growth of Québec businesses and accelerate the successful execution of their innovation or exportation plans.
The 35 businesses selected as part of the fifth wave of PerforME will benefit from personalized coaching by representatives from Export Québec, Investissement Québec, and Emploi Québec, which will be coordinated by an economic development advisor from the Ministère de l’Économie, de la Science et de l’Innovation (MEIE – Ministry of the Economy, Innovation, and Exports).
Verbom is one of the three businesses in the Estrie region to be selected. The initiatives, based in nine Québec regions, together represent more than $100.4M in investments and will lead to the creation of nearly 400 jobs.
The sixth selection of PerforME projects is scheduled for February 2017.
Verbom is also one of eight manufacturing businesses in the running for the STIQ Awards, in the category Innovation – R&D Engineering.
The nomination follows Verbom’s remarkable journey through the Podium program, in which some 100 Québec SMEs participated to enhance their competitiveness.
This business, with plants in Sherbrooke and Valcourt, has stood out for its innovative best business practices. Its engineering team is working on projects involving aluminium thermoforming, superplastic alloys, and assembly methods for sheet metal components.
