Université de Sherbrooke Students Create the Innovative KinApp Application

Muscle-training video briefs and information about diet and injury prevention: these are what Université de Sherbrooke kinesiology students have brought together in KinApp, a free web application.

The application can be accessed over the Internet from a computer, tablet, or smartphone.

KinApp is intended to be an accessible training tool: it contains about 30 videos of exercises performed by a model while a kinesiology student describes the movements. The muscles used in each exercise are also identified in an illustration.

The project was carried out by 28 graduates of the Université de Sherbrooke’s undergraduate program in kinesiology as part of a project-management course. Athletes and a computer-science student from the university took part in implementing the application.
