The Université de Sherbrooke Ranked 8th in Canada for the Impact of its Research

The Université de Sherbrooke (UdeS) has been classed 8th in Canada for the impact of its scientific publications, according to a ranking conducted by Leiden University in the Netherlands. On a provincial scale, the institution placed 2nd, after McGill University.

The UdeS has made a mark, in particular, in Natural Sciences and Life Sciences. In these two fields, it is ranked 3rd in Canada and 1st in Québec.

Between 2009 and 2012, the Université de Sherbrooke’s research teams published 1705 scientific articles.

The Leiden ranking is a compilation of the best 750 universities in the world in terms of publications listed in Thomson Reuters’ Web of Science database.
