Supermétal: A Wave of Contracts and Recruitment

LogoSupermetalFrancaisSupermétal, which specializes in manufacturing and installing structural steel frames, has recently entered into a number of contracts totaling $105M. These new projects have resulted in additional labour needs, particularly at the Sherbrooke facility.

“We are looking to hire fitters, welders, labourers, and supervisors. Prior experience is an asset, but we are also looking for hard-working people with no experience in the field. We will provide them with the necessary training,” announced Jean-François Blouin, the company’s President and General Manager.

Among the new contracts, Supermétal will manufacture and install the steel structure for Manulife’s new 27-storey building in downtown Calgary. Also in Alberta, the company will manufacture, among other things, pipeline supports for the oil company MEG Energy. In Newfoundland and Labrador, Supermétal will manufacture four turbines for Nalcor Energy’s future power plant.
