Royer Moving its R&D Center to Quartier Well Inc.

L.P. Royer, manufacturer of work boots, will move its innovation centre, currently located on Belvedere St. North, to the future Quartier Well Inc. With its plant located in Lac-Drolet, Royer set up a research and development centre in Sherbrooke six years ago and wishes to stay in the city.

More specifically, Royer acquired the old Maysen Pub on Wellington South, for $255 000 and will begin the construction of its R&D centre in 2018. This unit will house the business’ design, marketing, communications, business development, and information technology departments.

The premises will be three times larger than their current center, with 10,000 square feet rather than 3000, and may be looking for partners or tenants to occupy the space. Royer is growing steadily, especially in the United States. The company hires two to three workers each year, and is currently expanding its team of about fifteen employees.
