Professor Brahim Benmokrane of Université de Sherbrooke twice honored

Brahim Benmokrane receives his title of Fellow
by the Canadian Academy of Engineering.

Professor Brahim Benmokrane, of the Department of Civil Engineering at Université de Sherbrooke, received two prestigious titles highlighting his unique expertise and the remarkable progress resulting from his work on composite materials and improved concrete in infrastructure.

The Canadian Academy of Engineering awarded him the title of Fellow in recognition of his outstanding services to the profession and his brilliant work in the field of engineering.

Holding the Canada Research Chair in Composite Materials Used for Civil Engineering Structures, Brahim Benmokrane was also awarded the 2012 Award of Merit by the Canadian Standard Association. This award recognizes his “outstanding leadership, his exceptional expertise and his tireless effort in advancing standards related to construction materials and structures” worldwide.

Brahim Benmokrane is a world renowned authority in the field of composite materials for concrete infrastructure. He also holds the NSERC Industrial Research Chair in Innovative Fibre Reinforced Polymer (FRP) Composite Materials for Infrastructure.
