New Mitacs Funding Program for ACET Startups

Mitacs has added a new potential funding source for startup businesses created by students and supported by university incubators: their collaborative projects with university researchers will now be eligible for financial support.

The Université de Sherbrooke’s Accélérateur de création d’entreprises technologiques (ACET—accelerator for the creation of technological businesses) is part of the pilot project announced by Mitacs, as are nearly a dozen other incubators across Canada.

The businesses supported by the ACET are thus eligible for funding, so that they may better collaborate with university researchers to address marketing challenges and develop new products, services, or technologies.
