Within the next 90 days, the facility expects to attain an annual production rate of 150 metric tonnes of top-quality krill oil (Neptune NKOMD). In the coming year, Neptune will be introducing three specific new products on the market, targeting heart health and blood circulation, bone and joint health, and healthy brain function and healthy vision.

“In a market where differences among products are rare, we have the good fortune to possess a product portfolio whose quality is recognized worldwide,” explained André Godin, Interim President and Chief Executive Officer of Neptune Technologies & Bioressources.

The new facility, covering  a surface area of 45 000 square feet, has required a total investment of $48 million, which includes a $12.5-million loan from the Government of Québec through Investissement Québec and a $3.5-million interest-free loan from the Government of Canada through the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Québec.
