PRESS RELEASE – Established on Galt Street East in Sherbrooke since 1999, Industries SF has moved to a new larger plant in the Parc industriel Gene-H.-Kruger, in the Brompton sector.

The business, specialised in manufacturing parts and welding, has teamed up with the Comité de promotion industrielle de Brompton (CPIB) for its relocation project of over 1.2 M$.

The CPIB bought the land and built a 10,000 ft² (929 m²) plant it rents to Industries SF in the form of lease financing. Therefore, Industries SF will eventually become owner of the new building. The CPIB received the support of Sherbrooke Innopole in acquiring the land.

The owner of Industries SF, Stéphane Ferland, is thrilled to offer a new up to date work environment to the four members of his multidisciplinary team. “After more than 20 years of renting, a new chapter in the history of Industries SF is now beginning in a plant which offers much more workspace to achieve more major projects”, said Mr. Ferland, as he thanked CPIB and Constructions Patrick Sévigny.

“We are happy to collaborate with Industries SF so the local business can have access to new industrial tailormade space, carry out its activities, and create jobs in Sherbrooke”, said Paul Proulx, president of the Comité de promotion industrielle de Brompton.

An innovative project in parallel: Eau Chalet Flottant

In parallel with Industries SF’s relocation, Stéphane Ferland is developing a second business project, unique in Estrie, Eau Chalet Flottant, floating cottages that will be available for purchase or rental.

These cottages are entirely autonomous, have a rooftop patio and rest on an aluminum floating platform designed and manufactured by Industries SF. This is in fact one of Industries SF’s first projects carried out by the team at their new plant, located at 435 Joseph-Latour Street.

“The results of the project we conducted on a private lake last fall are conclusive. Since we already have contracts, we plan on hiring five construction workers in the next months. Starting next week, a cottage will be showcased at Lake Aylmer”, said Mr. Ferland, co-owner of the new business with his spouse, Renée Dutil.
