Fonds Capital croissance PME: $10.7 Million Invested in 11 Eastern Townships Businesses

Fonds Capital Croissance PMEIn the course of its initial phase, the Fonds Capital croissance PME (CCPME) has granted $10.7 million to 11 Eastern Townships businesses over a period of three years.

In 2013, two Sherbrooke businesses received financial support from the CCPME: Sherbrooke OEM and Pieux Vistech. This enabled Sherbrooke OEM to buy back the company’s shares that were owned by American interests. Through the fund’s contribution, Pieux Vistech was able to prepare a development strategy after acquiring the business.

Created in 2010 by Capital régional et coopératif Desjardins and Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec, this fund provides financing to SMEs in order to accomplish their growth, expansion, transfer, or acquisition projects.

In the last three years, over $190 million were invested throughout Quebec in 186 businesses.

2nd Phase of Fonds Capital croissance PME

Furthermore, the Fonds Capital croissance PME II was launched in January 2014. This new phase has a total capitalization of $230 million.
