Early-Stage Clinical Trials: The CHUS Joins the CATALIS Initiative

Centre de recherche du CHUSThe Centre hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke (CHUS) – through its research centre – is one of two new health institutions to become partners in the CATALIS initiative, with the Centre hospitalier universitaire (CHU) de Québec – Université Laval being the other.

Already grouping together the Centre hospitalier universitaire de Montréal (CHUM), the Centre hospitalier universitaire Sainte-Justine, and the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) as well as nearly a dozen funding partners, CATALIS aims to position Québec as a global force in terms of early-stage clinical trials – the first phase in drug research.

Within the next 5 years, the CR-CHUS hopes to double its early-stage clinical trials, particularly in radiochemistry and medical imaging. It will have access to $300 000 granted by the Government of Québec, as announced at the BIO International Conference in Boston.
