DBO Expert Moves to Sherbrooke

Microsoft Word - 2013-04-12 Communiqué DBO Expert

PRESS RELEASEDBO Expert Inc. is moving to Sherbrooke to carry on its operations in facilities better suited to its growth located at 501 Giroux Street in the borough of Brompton.

The company, which specializes in the distribution of innovative, environmentally friendly wastewater-treatment technologies, has invested $690,000 in purchasing and retrofitting its new premises, which measure 6,200 square feet, including a 5,000 square-foot warehouse.

Not only does DBO Expert’s move to Sherbrooke provide security for the ten existing full-time jobs, but it has already created three new positions and three more should be added in the short term.

“Our move to Saint-Denis-de-Brompton in Sherbrooke, into facilities that can be configured to suit our current and future needs, really boosts our growth potential,” pointed out Benoît Boucher and Nancy Lareau, the president and CEO of DBO Expert. “In fact, we plan to double the size of our offices next summer. And our new location, right next to Highway 55, gives us direct access as we continue developing our markets.”

Sherbrooke Innopole helped DBO Expert find a building. The company, founded in 2000, had barely moved in when it signed a technology-transfer agreement with the Centre de recherche industrielle du Québec (CRIQ – Quebec industrial research centre) to launch Biosor™ technology in Canada.

Under this agreement, DBO Expert holds the exclusive licence for this patented technology, enabling the Sherbrooke distributor to expand its product range, which includes the Enviro-Septic system, designed for commercial, industrial, residential and, community markets.

“Biosor™ allows us to diversify our portfolio of wastewater treatment technologies, consolidating our market leader position in Canada,” explained Boucher. DBO Expert also has an international presence, primarily with customers in Mexico and Morocco.

Pierre Bélanger, Sherbrooke Innopole’s director general, is delighted that DBO Expert has moved to Sherbrooke: “The company offers innovative, customized wastewater-treatment solutions for organizations that want to reduce their environmental footprints, a mission that is a perfect fit with the Cleantech sector, and its exclusive agreement with CRIQ with respect to Biosor™ technology is an indicator of its Quebec-wide reputation.”
