The Centre de recherche clinique Étienne-Le Bel Names New Scientific Director

WFraser-directeur-scientifique-150x210_01The CHUS’ Centre de recherche clinique Étienne-Le Bel (CRCELB – Clinical Research Centre) has announced the appointment of its new scientific director: Dr. William Fraser, MD.

In office since January 6, 2014, Dr. Fraser has a five-year mandate. His mission is to strengthen the links between fundamental and clinical research and ensure that research is incorporated into the care and services provided by the CHUS.

Dr. Fraser holds the Canada Research Chair in Perinatal Epidemiology. He is conducting a mother-child study on chemicals in the environment, funded over a three-year period by Public Works and Government Services Canada. A specialist in maternal-fetal medicine at the CHUS, Dr. Fraser is also a professor in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Université de Sherbrooke.

He was the recipient of the Canadian Society for Clinical Investigation’s 2012 Distinguished Scientist Award.
