BDC Risk Capital supports Canadian businesses in the IT sector

BDCGood news for start-up Canadian businesses in the Information Technology (IT) sector: the BDC Risk Capital IT Fund has announced plans to invest $100 million dollars in the coming years. This money is an addition to the $50 million dollars already committed to the sector.

The Fund acts as the main investor and investments are usually allocated to start-up businesses specializing in enterprise solutions, Internet or mobility sectors.

Initial investments can range from $100,000 to $2,000,000 or $4,000,000 with further investment predicated upon reaching progress and growth milestones within the Company.

Last year BDC invested in 11 new businesses showing business potential in the IT area.
