Avizo Experts-Conseils to spend $2.6 million on new headquarters in Sherbrooke

Engineering firm Avizo Experts-Conseils has officially embarked on the construction of its new headquarters in Sherbrooke. The estimated cost of the project is $2.6 million.

The new building at 1125 Cherbourg Street will measure over 18 000 square feet. Avizo Experts-Conseils plans to relocate 50 employees currently working out of three business sites in Sherbrooke to the new headquarters in September 2014.

The Sherbrooke company has count on the support of Sherbrooke Innopole in its search for land.

A one-of-a-kind test bed

The building will have approximately60 offices, a hydraulic test bed (the only one of its kind in Québec), and three laboratories:

  • a laboratory specializing in environmental biology
  • a laboratory for identifying and counting asbestos fibres and air pollutants
  • a laboratory for R&D on the treatment of contaminated soils

Once operational, the test bed can be used to calibrate flowmeters with a range of 1 to 5000 m3/d. Besides calibrating its own 150 or so devices, Avizo Experts-Conseils plans to service businesses and universities across Canada.

Outside Sherbrooke, Avizo Experts-Conseils has approximately30  employees in its offices in Longueuil, Granby, Drummondville, and Laval.
