Armaturiers to Invest $3M in New Facility in Sherbrooke

PRESS RELEASEArmaturiers Inc. is expanding in Sherbrooke: This reinforcing steel company will begin construction of a nearly 24 000 ft2 (2230 m2) plant, to be more than five times larger than its current Industriel Boulevard facilities, in the coming weeks.

The overall project will generate investments of $3 million related to land acquisition, plant construction, and the purchase of new equipment. In the process, Armaturiers plans to create 11 jobs, mostly for day labourers, to be added to the 40 current employees. The new plant will be located on the future Antonio-Cameron Street, in the Sherbrooke Regional Industrial Park, and will have four production lines.

“We are proud to be launching this key growth project,” said Marco Therrien, co-owner and President of Armaturiers. “Over the years, we have built a dedicated, efficient, and hard-working team that, in turn, has contributed to our reputation. We are excited to write this new page of Armaturiers’ history together.”

“With its large surface area, the new plant will achieve higher levels of productivity and safety,” noted Stéphane Boulanger, co-owner and Vice-President of Armaturiers. We will be able to double the number of production lines and add automated equipment, including an automatic folding machine.”

Armaturiers was able to rely on support for its expansion project from Sherbrooke Innopole through its relocation services. “We are very pleased that Armaturiers is continuing its growth in Sherbrooke. They were able to make their mark in the construction market, which is both booming and very competitive,” stated Nathalie Prince, Director of Business Services, Advanced Manufacturing key sector, at Sherbrooke Innopole.

Founded in 2012, Armaturiers specializes in the processing and installation of concrete reinforcing steel and wire mesh. The company is involved in numerous industrial, institutional, and commercial construction projects in the region and on the South Shore.
