Aerospace: a new mechanism for facilitating collaboration between universities and businesses

CARICA new network has been created to foster partnerships across Canada between universities and industries operating in the aerospace sector: the Consortium for Aerospace Research and Innovation in Canada (CARIC).

The project is the result of a joint initiative of the Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC) and the Consortium for Research and Innovation in Aerospace in Québec (CRIAQ), whose founding members include the Université de Sherbrooke’s Engineering Faculty.

CARIC is a national research network that brings together stakeholders from the aerospace industry, universities, colleges, and research institutions.

The network’s collaborative research model is based on that of CRIAQ: industry proposes collaborative research projects, to which interested researchers can respond by forming a research team with the industrial partner.
