ESA at several agricultural shows in North America // SHERBROOKE INTERNATIONAL

As part of the Sherbrooke International program, selected Sherbrooke businesses have received direct support for their development outside Québec. Sherbrooke International is proud to encourage and support Sherbrooke businesses to shine internationally. After each of these significant projects, participants are invited to share their experiences through a blog post.
The company Energy Solutions Air (ESA) has been showcasing its new ESA-1000 heat recovery air-to-air exchanger at several agricultural shows in North America since early 2018. Adam Frégeau, the company’s Chief Financial Officer, presents the key points of these marketing activities.
Revolutionary technology for the agricultural community
Although commercial air exchangers have existed for several decades, the technology developed by ESA is particularly valuable to the agricultural industry. Resistance to dirt build-up and freezing, as well as easy cleaning, result in savings on heating bills for livestock facilities, such as poultry houses, piggeries, calf nurseries, and stables. Additionally, this technology provides a significant increase in comfort in the facility by reducing cold air currents and improving air quality.
Access to new markets
With the support of the Sherbrooke International program, ESA has accelerated its marketing efforts by presenting its ESA-Series air exchangers to new markets in 2018. In fact, in January, the Sherbrooke company participated at the world’s largest agriculture show focused on aviculture, the IPPE exposition in Atlanta, USA. Attending this expo enabled ESA’s team to develop contacts with several American distributors and to get their opinions on the product.
At the end of the event, the company’s new sales manager, Randy Taylor, led a prospecting mission to the southern states, including Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and Delaware. This mission made it possible to meet potential partners with the goal of establishing a distribution network to serve the American market and to once again listen to the many positive comments about the technology.
A spectacular reception
At each ESA-1000 presentation, potential clients responded very positively. Furthermore, during the National Poultry Show in London, Ontario, the booth ESA shared with Canadian product distributor Canarm Ltd. and agriculture controller company Intelia was packed to capacity. Several resellers came to learn more about the technology, and a client agreement was also concluded at the expo. Visitors were very impressed by the product’s easy cleaning and design. In contrast with previously existing solutions, the ESA-1000 is designed for animal husbandry operations and facilities.
The company also attended the Alberta Pork Congress in Red Deer, Western Canada. Once again, farmers got to see the product in action and the reaction was unanimously positive. The company even has a Yukon client who will be installing the devices in their broiler facility before autumn.
Thanks to the Sherbrooke International program, the ESA team has accelerated its international expansion. This year, several major installations will be carried out outside of Québec, which will be the most important stage in the commercial development of the ESA-1000 exchanger. Through these marketing efforts, ESA is expecting to reduce gas consumption for heating animal housing by nearly 50%, and to significantly improve animal welfare.
