Entrepreneurship: Université de Sherbrooke Among the Best Universities in Canada
The Université de Sherbrooke ranks among the top three Canadian campuses with the most favourable conditions for start-ups, according to Mitacs.
In an interview with StartUp Canada, Mitacs’ Scientific Director, Dr. Rob Annan, cited UdeS as an example, after Ryerson University in Toronto, and the University of British Columbia (UBC).
“The Université de Sherbrooke has conducted quite interesting projects. A decade ago, it was one of the first to launch an entrepreneurship strategy, and since then it has created a solid environment conducive to helping students get their projects to market,” noted Dr. Annan, referring in particular to the Accélérateur de création d’entreprises technologiques (ACET – Accelerator for the Creation of Technological Businesses).
It should also be noted that UdeS has launched a new entrepreneurship hub with a budget of $60M over a 10-year period to foster the development of innovative entrepreneurial projects in the region.
