The Université de Sherbrooke (UdeS) has been classed 8^th in Canada for the impact of its scientific publications, according to a ranking conducted by Leiden University in the Netherlands. On a provincial scale, the institution placed 2^nd, after McGill University.

The UdeS has made a mark, in particular, in Natural Sciences and Life Sciences. In these two fields, it is ranked 3^rd in Canada and 1^st in Québec.

Between 2009 and 2012, the Université de Sherbrooke’s research teams published 1705 scientific articles.

The Leiden ranking is a compilation of the best 750 universities in the world in terms of publications listed in Thomson Reuters’ Web of Science database.
