Regional Industrial Park: Robert-Boyd Street Will Be Extended
New lots will soon be available in the Sherbrooke Regional Industrial Park due to the extension of Robert-Boyd Street, which was recently authorized by the municipal council.
The street will be extended by 900 m, which will enable the development of an additional 245 000 m2 of industrial lots, some of which will be visible from Highway 10. Between 8 and 15 projects may be developed there, depending on the area of each of the lots.
Work should begin in June and be completed in July 2016.
The first portion of Robert-Boyd Street was created less than a year ago, extending from Labonté Road. Along with the Portland Boulevard extension, completed in December 2015, this new road infrastructure will make 384 000 m2 of industrial land accessible.
To date, the two projects have led to the sale of three lots, on which construction has begun. Three other companies are in discussions to acquire lots this spring; eight other projects, including three new operations, are on the table in the medium-term, said Sherbrooke Innopole’s Director General, Josée Fortin.
