ECOTIERRA is now B Corp certified, a certification given to socially and environmentally responsible companies. It is the first Sherbrooke company to be given this prestigious international status.

To be recognized as a B Corp – which stands for benefit corporations – a company must meet strict performance requirements in terms of social and environmental responsibility, accountability, and transparency. Among other elements, consideration is given to the impacts on suppliers, clients, and the community.

The Sherbrooke company develops sustainable forestry and agriculture projects generating carbon credits and having positive socio-economic impacts, for and with local communities.

“B Corp certification was becoming a natural objective for the team. It constitutes brand recognition of our day-to-day commitment,” eagerly noted ECOTIERRA’s President Étienne Desmarais.

In addition to its head office in Sherbooke, ECOTIERRA has offices in Peru, Colombia, and Ivory Coast.
