Surplec HV Solutions Opens a Plant in Alberta

Surplec HV Solutions has officially expanded to Alberta, in Spruce Grove near Edmonton, with the opening of a new repair and reconditioning plant for medium voltage electrical devices and transformers.

This is the Sherbrooke company’s first plant outside Quebec. Its four other facilities are located on Godin Street in Sherbrooke.

The Spruce Grove plant covers 10 000 square feet and required an investment of $3 million for construction, fitting-out, and equipment purchases. Led by Frédérik Lambert, Surplec West plans to hire about 15 people within the next two years.

After winning over Eastern Canada, the company can accelerate its development of the market in Western Canada with this new phase of expansion. Surplec HV Solutions already has many clients there, including Epcor, Lafarge, Atco, and Prime Engineering.
