A Sherbrooke Start-up Earns a Spot at the International South by Southwest Event
Time Passport, a young Sherbrooke technological business, has won a place in South by Southwest (SXSW), the most important event celebrating innovation and new technologies!
The start-up was selected by a jury following a competition of short presentations, first in the Estrie region, and then at the provincial final, based on the following criteria:
- Delivery and effectiveness of the pitch;
- Rupture potential;
- Relevance of the business model;
- Investor and client traction potential;
- Potential for international success.
The company will be part of the Planète Québec trade mission to SXSW, in Austin, Texas, March 12-15, 2017, along with the four other winning companies – Smart Halo, Locketgo, Brew-it, and Lepointdevente.com.
Time Passport has been developing an application that will invite users to travel back in time on an immersive experience of historical events.
The company was founded in 2015 by Carina Poulin, Vincent Thomas, Philippe Fournier, Rémi Guillemette, and Pierre-Philippe Racine.
Planète Québec to SXSW 2017 will be the largest Québec delegation, with some 100 participants, including representatives from 50 businesses and organizations.
Each year, SXSW welcomes nearly 3500 media representatives and 37 000 participants from the music, cinema, and interactive media industries, from more than 85 countries.
