Sherbrooke Has Lowest Cost of Living in Canada

According to a ranking published by Slice, Sherbrooke is the city with the lowest cost of living for a population of more than 100 000 in Canada. Based on data from Salary Expert, this ranking took into account costs related to food, transportation, health services, public services, taxes, and lodging. These indicators demonstrate that Sherbrooke has a cost of living that is 15.6% lower than the rest of the country.

The survey confirmed that salaries are lower on average, but in the end, Sherbrooke residents have more money in their pockets for leisure activities, and also have easier access to property than residents of other Canadian cities.

Several other Québec cities are in the top 20: Laval (2), Saguenay (3), Lévis (4), Terrebonne (5), Longueuil (6), Trois-Rivières (8), Québec (15), and Gatineau (16).
