Series of Major Contracts for IBIOM
IBIOM Instruments Ltd. was recently awarded six major contracts, totalling nearly $1 million, by hospitals in Québec, Ontario, New Brunswick, and Newfoundland and Labrador.
This Sherbrooke company, which specializes in manufacturing ergonomic medicalequipment, concluded an exclusive three-year agreement in Newfoundland and Labrador. IBIOM will supply more than 100 TRIAD dialysis chairs to the province’s hospitals.
A similar contract, also for dialysis chairs, was concluded in Moncton, New Brunswick. In all, 27 units have been delivered to two heath care institutions.
IBIOM has also obtained a contract from the McGill University Health Centre for 40 ultrasound stretchers. On the Ontario side, the new Oakville and Humber River hospitals in Toronto have ordered 13 and 8 ultrasound stretchers, respectively. For its part, the Hôpital Pierre-Boucher in Longueuil has confirmed the acquisition of 23 endoscopy stretchers.
An improved product catalogue
The series of contracts concluded in the past six months has enabled the creation of three new jobs, two of which are full time.
“With four months remaining in our fiscal year, we have almost doubled our sales figures compared to last year; that’s remarkable,” noted IBIOM President, Jasmin Bibeau. “This is the result of our efforts in sales and R&D – we have developed new products, such as the endoscopy stretcher and dialysis chair, which are proving to be very successful.”
IBIOM is about to market its new multifunctional chair, developed in collaboration with the CHUS. This product has great sales potential, predicts Mr. Bibeau, noting that the company has other major contracts in its sights for 2016, in Québec and elsewhere in Canada.
