Rackam now has a foothold in Europe

Rackam, a Sherbrooke based company, continues to grow: it will soon inaugurate a commercial showcase in Spain, through a partnership with the European company Investeco Hispania.

Beginning summer 2012, a parabolic solar panels system, Icarus Heat, will be installed on the roof of a potato chip factory in the Valencia region. This innovative project, totaling $258,000, will produce heat used for heating the frying oil while reducing fuel consumption and greenhouse gases emissions.

After a widely applauded first project at the Laiterie Chagnon in Waterloo, Rackam, founded in 2009, wrote an important page in its history by signing this partnership with the financial support of the Ministry of Economic Development, Innovation and Export Trade, which provided a non-refundable financial assistance of $83,200.

“This project of commercial showcase in Spain will allow [Rackam] to demonstrate its expertise overseas while increasing its activities and the number of jobs in the Eastern Townships,” said the Minister of International Relations, Minister responsible for La Francophonie, Minister responsible for the Estrie Region and MNA for Saint-François, Monique Gagnon-Tremblay.
