Pfizer Renews its Chair with the Université de Sherbrooke
The Université de Sherbrooke and Pfizer have announced that the Pfizer Chair of Process Analytical Technologies in Pharmaceutical Engineering will be renewed.
Pfizer will inject $2.94 million over five years into the Chair, which is held by Professor Nicolas Abatzoglou.
The purpose of the Pfizer Chair, which is the only one of its kind in North America, is to develop and apply process analytical techniques and technologies (PATs) that can be used in the pharmaceutical industry.
Its analytical methods are designed to analyze, monitor, and control the pharmaceutical formulas used in the production of tablets, ointments, liquids, and other forms of medication in an effort to improve their quality. The Pfizer Chair mainly focuses on the handling of powders, particles, and granules.
