New Canada Research Chair in Exercise Recommendations for Healthy Aging
What would level of physical exercise would be most effective in keeping you healthy as you grow old? This is one of the questions that will be studied by the new research chair created by the Université de Sherbrooke and the Canada Research Chair Program.
With $1.4 million in funding, the Canada Research Chair in Exercise Recommendations for Healthy Aging will be led by Isabelle Dionne, Vice-Dean of Research and Graduate Studies in the Université de Sherbrooke’s Faculty of Physical and Sports Education.
The chair’s recommendations will focus on improving the health of the elderly and help reduce the risks of chronic diseases, especially type 2 diabetes and physical disabilities.
Its laboratory is located in the Health and Social Services Centre — University Institute of Geriatrics of Sherbrooke (CSSS-IUGS).
