Jacques Viens Appointed to Sherbrooke Innopole’s Board of Directors
Sherbrooke Innopole is proud to announce the appointment of Jacques Viens, Assistant Vice-President and Director of the Office of the President at the Université de Sherbrooke, as an administrator on its Board of Directors.
Jacques Viens joined the Université de Sherbrooke in 1999 as Director of the Communications Department, before becoming part of the senior management team in 2005.
A graduate in political science from the University of Ottawa, he has worked in communications and public relations for private firms and in the municipal sector.
Jacques Viens sits on various committees and boards in the region, including the Fondation Rock Guertin. He has also been involved in regional economic development by participating on the Chambre de commerce de Sherbrooke (Sherbrooke Chamber of Commerce), Pro-Gestion Estrie, and the Conférence régionale des élus de l’Estrie (Regional Conference of Elected Officials).
The appointment of Jacques Viens to Sherbrooke Innopole’s Board of Directors is an asset for developing a dynamic knowledge-based economy and fostering strong student entrepreneurship.
This new member of the Board of Directors was appointed by the City of Sherbrooke on December 1, 2014.
