ING Robotic Aviation’s Drones to Fight Forest Fires in Chili
The Chilean company iFMS Chile has bought Serenity drones from ING Robotics Aviation to help fight forest fires.
Serenity drones were developed at the Sherbrooke office of ING Robotics Aviation and can be used to gather a wide range of images with their infrared and electrical-optical camera system. This system allows the drones to provide real-time stills and videos in both the visible and infrared parts of the spectrum. The system can also be used to produce 3-D images.
ING Robotics Aviation will also provide Chilean operators with the required training. Delivery and training are scheduled for September 2013.
Serenity drones are unmanned air vehicles with fixed wings that are capable of long-range flying with an endurance of about 10 hours.
