PRESS RELEASE – In November 2012, ArjoHuntleigh—a division of the multinational Getinge Group—moved the warehouse it acquired from KCI Medical’s support-surfaces division to Sherbrooke as part of a service centre to better meet the needs of its growing clientele.

The move allows the company, which specializes in the disinfection, lease, installation and maintenance of medical equipment, to consolidate its operations in new, larger facilities on Hertel Street. ArjoHuntleigh now has 3,100 square feet—five times the size of its previous premises—found after enlisting Sherbrooke Innopole’s assistance.

The company invested $35,000 in the relocation and expansion, including $20,000 to purchase new equipment. Ten employees, including seven specialized technicians, were redeployed to provide the new services in Sherbrooke. ArjoHuntleigh is planning further expansion here and will continue to make inroads into the market.

“Setting up a service centre means that ArjoHuntleigh’s Sherbrooke office can provide its customers with better service and handle higher demand,” indicated Alexandre Ouellette, operations manager for Sherbrooke and Quebec. The Centre hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke (CHUS or Sherbrooke University Hospital Centre) figures among ArjoHuntleigh’s major clients.

“From a just-in-time perspective, being able to provide disinfection and quality control, repair therapeutic surfaces, and install patient lifts here in Sherbrooke, instead of sending them out as we used to do, represents a significant advantage,” added Ouellette. “It gives us optimal autonomy, which will benefit our customers because we can serve them more quickly and efficiently.”
