Jean-Sébastien Cyr, president and director of business development, and Normand Ferland, sales representative, participated in a major trade fair in the United States in March 2019. Here is their report: 

A designated place for Demtroys Technology’s solutions in the United States

With support from Sherbrooke Innopole, on March 20 and 21, 2019, Demtroys Technology participated in one of the largest trade shows on energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies in the northeastern American market: The AEE East Energy Conference and Expo | GlobalCon.  The event was held at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

Demtroys Technology’s kiosk attracted many prospects. “A number of opportunities have been identified, which will help lay the foundation for projects in collaboration with American companies,” said President Jean-Sébastien Cyr. “Our participation has also enabled us to complete our technology watch and competitive intelligence processes. We have clearly maintained our unique position even on this side of the border,” he added.

“We also took advantage of our visit to Boston to meet with advisors at the Québec Government Office in Boston. Their expertise and knowledge of the market will help us connect with our first clients to develop commercial showcases in the United States,” said Cyr.

Founded in 2010, Demtroys Technology inc. works in the cleantech, information and communication technologies, and advanced manufacturing sectors, three of the five key sectors for the economy of the Sherbrooke region. The company designs, manufactures, assembles, and markets high-value-added software and microelectronic equipment.

The products and technological know-how are intended to manage and control heating systems in multi-residential, commercial, and institutional buildings, particularly apartment buildings and private seniors’ residences.

The Demtroys system makes it possible to adjust the quantity of energy used for heating based on outdoor temperature, the location of the dwelling, and various settings. Thus, it limits the unnecessary energy loss often resulting from the tenants’ habits, generating average energy savings of 25%.

Now close to 10 years after its foundation, and with 50% of the market share in Canada, the company is considered a leader in its sector. Its clients and partners include some of the largest residential buildings portfolios in Canada.
