Université de Sherbrooke to Build an Upscaling Centre

The Université de Sherbrooke will soon begin the construction of an upscaling centre in its Innovation Park on De l’Université Boulevard.

The new 30 000 sq. ft. building will be home to teams of researchers from the Faculty of Engineering, who are currently working in leased space.

The Industrial Research Chair on Cellulosic Ethanol and Biocommodities will occupy one third of the area.

Four other research chairs related to the Centre de recherche sur les infrastructures en béton (CRIB – research centre on concrete infrastructures) and the Centre de recherche en génie parasismique (CRGP – research centre on earthquake engineering) will occupy the other portion of the facilities.

The upscaling centre will make it possible to produce life-size samples of items such as concrete beams and pylon sections.
