Université de Sherbrooke and Desjardins Create the Entrepreneurial Practices Accelerator
The next generation of entrepreneurs will soon be able to take advantage of an environment highly conductive to business development at Université de Sherbrooke, thanks to Desjardin’s Accélérateur de pratiques entrepreneuriales (Entrepreneurial Practices Accelerator).
Monique F. Leroux, President and Chief Executive Officer of Mouvement Desjardins and Luce Samoisette, Université de Sherbrooke Rector, with students from the entrepreneurship concentration in the Bachelor of Business Administration.
This initiative, unique in Québec, has been made possible thanks to a $2.5M contribution from Mouvement Desjardins to the university’s major fundraising campaign Promising Futures, Shared Passions. This contribution will also be used to create the Desjardins chair in responsible finance.
Through this accelerator, the university’s Faculty of Administration aims to inspire an entrepreneurial spirit among students throughout their studies. Various measures will be implemented to enhance the entrepreneurial ecosystem, including providing assistance in the creation of their business projects, personalized coaching, support for students’ entrepreneurship initiatives, opportunities to partner with existing projects in a variety of fields, etc.
