Dettson Invests in New Premises in Sherbrooke
Dettson Industries will soon be moving into BRP’s former distribution centre on J.A. Bombardier Street, near Highway 410. Currently located on Industriel Boulevard, Dettson will occupy one third of the building’s surface area.
The move, scheduled for November 2015, is part of the company’s restructuring plan.
Dettson has been focusing on optimizing its production processes since 2014. By automating its processes and reorganizing its factory floor, the company expects to double its business, according to General Manager Marc Chénier.
In light of the investments associated with this change in location, the company foresees attaining profitability in 2016.
“We are very pleased with this announcement. Not only because it is proof of the success of the ambitious technological and environmental shift taken by Dettson’s team, but also because it preserves the industrial vocation of this site, which will provide an exceptional showcase for Dettson and the companies that will set up shop there in the future,” said Josée Fortin, Director General at Sherbrooke Innopole.
It should be noted that, since its technological and environmental shift in 2011, this company specializing in the design and manufacture of heating and air-conditioning equipment has developed two new products in line with the trend towards sustainable development: the Chinook gas furnace and the Hydra Révolution electrical boiler.
Dettson employs from 95 to 120 workers, depending on the seasonal production cycle.
