An innovation from Université de Sherbrooke commercialized in India
Telemedicine equipment developed at the Institut interdisciplinaire d’innovation technologique (3IT) of Université de Sherbrooke will soon give access to medical treatment to thousands of Indians directly from their home.
The company Vigilent Telesystems will commercialize this new technology under a purchase and distribution agreement in India.
The technology, which operates through a mobile camera system with an accessible and user-friendly interface, allows treatment of patients directly in their homes or access to a specialist during an operation without the specialits’s presence in the room.
The Société de commercialisation et de valorisation of Université de Sherbrooke (SOCPRA) will collect royalties from the exploitation of this innovation, which has been initiated by Michel Tousignant, Director and researcher at the Research Center on Aging, and operationalized by François Michaud, director of the 3IT.
