PRESS RELEASE – Groupe Précigrafik has announced the construction of its new facilities and has symbolically marked the start of work on its property on Portland Boulevard in Sherbrooke’s Regional Industrial Park.

The new 30 000 sq. ft. building will provide more space to accommodate the company’s growth and its new equipment. “With our four acquisitions over the past five years and the additional equipment being added, we needed more space,” explained Gilles Blais, President of the Groupe Précigrafik.

These investments will enable the company to continue to make its mark in Canada’s innovative printing market. Earlier this year, the business announced the purchase of a new digital press, worth $700 000. Thanks to this leading-edge acquisition, the Groupe Précigrafik is the first company in the country to offer this type of service, enabling its clients to stand out to a greater degree through the use of non-standard printing media and the creation of visual effects from unique colours and textures.

These new premises, to be built in summer 2018, will go hand-in-hand with the creation of about 15 jobs over the next two years, while consolidating the current 45 jobs in Sherbrooke.

The Comité de promotion industrielle de Sherbrooke (CPIS – Sherbrooke’s industrial promotion committee) contributed an amount of $450 000 toward the total investments of nearly $4.5M. “We believe in Précigrafik,” stated Jean-Paul Longchamps, President of the CPIS. The company has always been a leader in its activity sector, and with its 50 000 clients across Québec and the rest of Canada, it still has the potential for major future growth.” Desjardins Entreprises has been supporting Groupe Précigrafik since its early years of operation.

The Mayor of Sherbrooke, Steve Lussier, expressed his delight that the Groupe Précigrafik continues to choose Sherbrooke for its expansion projects: “The Précigrafik company is a source of great pride for Sherbrooke: Over the course of its 30 years of existence, the company has been able to adapt and make a name for itself; and now, it has reiterated its desire to continue to expand and create additional jobs here.”

For its part, Sherbrooke Innopole has supported the Groupe Précigrafik in its efforts to locate and purchase land. Josée Fortin, Director General of Sherbrooke Innopole, is excited that this Sherbrooke company has been able to diversify and stay in the game in a market like printing that has changed immensely, and that the business is continuing to grow. “The presence of Précigrafik in the Regional Industrial Park is an asset for other nearby companies,” she added. “The synergies that are created become true development vectors.”
