Growth at Métosak in Sherbrooke: $1.1 million investment for an expansion
PRESS RELEASE – Métosak, a manufacturer of mechanically welded parts, has acquired property adjacent to its current site, in the Gene H. Kruger Industrial Park in Brompton, to construct a 10 140 ft.2 building, the construction of which is scheduled for June. This expansion, requiring an investment of $1.1 million, will create 20 new jobs while firmly maintaining the existing 75 positions.
Métosak specializes in the laser cutting, assembly, mechanized welding, bending, rolling, and folding of metal. The Sherbrooke company, founded in 2002, started its activities in the CPIB premises on St. Jean-Baptiste Street. In fall 2013, it moved to its current address at 570 Joseph-Latour, in a brand new plant whose facilities it now needs to expand.
“Our business is doing very well,” noted Serge Morin, President of Métosak. “With several new contracts and the growing needs of our clients, especially BRP and TLD Canada, we have to expand our production space quickly.”
Métosak was able to count on the support of Sherbrooke Innopole in its expansion efforts. “Being a major player in metal processing, Métosak is a cornerstone of our key sector of advanced manufacturing and of Sherbrooke’s economy. We are proud to contribute once more to its development,” said Josée Fortin, Director General of Sherbrooke Innopole.
