Enactus Université de Sherbrooke Shines Across Canada
The Enactus team of the Université de Sherbrooke stood out during Enactus Canada’s recent national competition, not once but three times!
For its second participation in this great entrepreneurship event, Enactus UdeS was ranked among the 20 best teams in Canada by reaching the semi-finals. The Sherbrooke group presented three of the five projects it launched over the course of the past year:
- Feed the Exchange
- Fais comme chez toi (make yourself at home)
- Projet de transformation de la Banque alimentaire Memphrémagog (Memphrémagog food bank transformation project)
At the end of the competition, Enactus Université de Sherbrooke walked away with the Rookie National Champion award.
During the opening ceremony, the team’s president, Tim Jubinville, received the Unilever Leaders for a Bright Future award, along with a $1500 bursary. This honour is awarded to five Canadian students for their vision, leadership, and their use of entrepreneurship action to improve the life quality of people in their community.
In 2015, just a few months after it was created, Enactus UdeS won the Spirit Award in the context of the same competition.
The Enactus team, led by Jean-François Lalonde, Academic Advisor and Professor at the UdeS, is comprised of 40 Université de Sherbrooke students, who have volunteered more than 1600 hours of their time.
