The Government of Canada is launching CanExport, a new program to help SMEs create new export opportunities in global markets.
With a budget of $50 million over five years, the program will provide direct financial support ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 for many export marketing activities, including:
– Business travel to target markets
– Participation in trade fairs and trade missions
– Adaptation of marketing tools for penetrating a new market
– Legal costs related to distribution and agency agreements
– Market research
To participate, companies must have fewer than 250 employees and an annual income in Canada ranging from $200,000 to $50M.
CanExport is administered by Global Affairs Canada’s Trade Commissioner Service (TCS) in partnership with the National Research Council of Canada’s Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP).
