New Cooperation Agreement between the Université de Sherbrooke and Montpellier
The Université de Sherbrooke (UdeS) signed a strategic-alliance framework agreement designed to bolster scientific and technical cooperation as well as academic exchanges with four university institutions in Montpellier, France.
Under the agreement known as the Alliance Montpellier–Sherbrooke Plus (AMS+), the UdeS will work with Montpellier 1 University; Montpellier 2 University (science and technology); Paul Valéry University, Montpellier 3; and the National Graduate School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Montpellier.
During its initial five-year term, AMS+ will foster reciprocal admission for students at all university levels as well as an exchange of faculty and interns. This alliance will also promote collaborative research projects and the development of co-supervision of theses and dissertations.
The agreement was signed on June 28, 2013 as part of the 4th university academic meetings between Sherbrooke and Montpellier, which were held in the Languedoc-Rousillon region.
