SherWeb Acquires the American Company OrcsWeb
SherWeb announced the purchase of OrcsWeb, a company based in Charlotte, North Carolina, specializing in managed services. This is the third acquisition in as many years for SherWeb, which has thus accelerated its entry into the Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) sector.
Known for its expertise in Microsoft technologies, OrcsWeb is a cloud-based hosting provider, in partitioned and dedicated mode. It has four data centres in Charlotte.
“OrcsWeb will naturally complement our marketing strategy because its profound mastery of Windows hosting represents one of the fundamental diversification options for cloud-based service providers in the near future,” [translation] said Matthew Cassar, Cofounder and President of SherWeb, in a news release.
OrcsWeb will continue its activities as a wholly-owned subsidiary of SherWeb.
Through this purchase, the Sherbrooke company has enhanced its expertise in the field in which it has already made its mark: SherWeb was selected as a finalist for Microsoft’s Hosting Partner of the Year award thanks to its new offering of Performance Cloud servers, which will soon be available.
