Climate Change: Bishop’s Inaugurates an Advanced Laboratory
Bishop’s University is imposing itself as a major player in the studies of climate changes: the Sherbrooke anglophone institution has inaugurated a new advanced research laboratory.
Led by Dr. Matthew Peros, Chairholder of the Canada Research on Climate and Environmental Changes, the facilities will be used by 15 researchers of the Multi-scale Climate and Environmental Change Research Group (MUSCLE).
They will have access to a high magnification microscope. This specialised equipment will be used to analyse samples taken from different places on Earth, so they can better understand the speed and the magnitude of climate changes.
The project was possible thanks to an $800,000 investment from the Canadian Foundation for Innovation (CFI) and other partners.
With this laboratory, Bishop’s University is reaching its goals in research and aims to attract well known researchers to its campus located in the Lennoxville borough in Sherbrooke.
