Shark Media & Sport Teams Up with Three Renowned Shareholders

The Sherbrooke company Shark Media & Sport has recruited three new major investors: dragon Serge Beauchemin, as well as former hockey player Jocelyn Thibault and Stephen Cabana, two shareholders in the Complexe Thibault GM.

Shark Media & Sport, headed by Nolan Poulin, Nyk Beaulieu, and Stéphan Doucet, specializes in the design of web solutions for managing sports leagues and events.

Back in May 2015, Shark Media & Sport concluded a preliminary agreement with Serge Beauchemin when it appeared on the TV show Dans l’œil du dragon (the French equivalent of Dragons’ Den). At the time, the team of shareholders was also in discussions with Jocelyn Thibault and Stephen Cabana.

Ultimately, the new partners will invest $200 000 in Shark Media & Sport for 40% of its shares. The company plans to diversify its client base; currently, 90% of its 200 clients are associated with hockey.

In concrete terms, the injection of fresh capital will support the development of a new product designed to reach a broader market.
