Portable Winch Co. recently commemorated its tenth anniversary.

The Sherbrooke-based manufacturer and distributor of portable gasoline and electric-powered winches marked the occasion with the inauguration of its factory expansion on Thomas Tremblay Street, thus doubling the floor space of the factory and warehouse.

Over the years, Portable Winch Co. has established itself as the world leader in the portable-winch sector and today has over 350 retailers in over 35 countries.

The company has 12 employees and over 85% of its suppliers are from Québec, a priority for this home-grown company. “Even though we sell our product worldwide, it is paramount that we continue to encourage local companies and grow with them,” pointed out company president and CEO Pierre Roy, who is also a mentor with the Sherbrooke Innopole Business Mentoring cell.
